Designated on June 19, 2009 as the Official Cotton Gin Museum of Texas, the historic cotton gin has been visited annual by thousands of visitors and have enjoyed exhibits at the Texas Cotton Gin Museum. Burton, a small rural German community of 350 is conveniently located halfway between Houston and Austin on Hwy 290.

The Marburger Farm Antique Show has been a favorite source for antiques for more than a dozen years. Our outdoor show features more than 350 dealers from across the United States and the world. Our 43 acre field boasts ten large tents and 12 historic buildings. From State Highway 290 down to Warrenton along State Highway 237 is over 10 miles of shows, pastures, tents and venues full of antiques, junk, architectural salvage, clothing and anything that sells! From last weekend in March through first weekend in April. Repeats again in the fall from last weekend in September through first weekend in October.
In July, Eagle Golf of Dallas (which manages Cinco Ranch Golf Club) took over golf operations. Changes included new staff, new Superintendent Joe McCaskill, formerly of Blackhawk Golf Club in Pflugerville, has filled in the ponds that were dry and worked the fairways and greens back to respectability, restoring much of the course to its former condition. Most golfers who have played the 6,483-yard, course consider Bluebonnet a fun layout. There are island greens, like on the par-a 13th, challenging par 3’s and beautiful views. Despite its lack of length, the course has never been considered easy.
